TWT‑11 at a glance

Key figures for the turbine, tower and electrical system. Acoustic values are estimates until the measurement campaign is complete.

Max height 21 m (DK) / 15 m (DE)
Ground anchor to tower distance 7.5 m (DK) / 5 m (DE)
Total weight Approximately 326 kg
Foundation 5 x Ground anchors
Certification class IEC 61400-22:2010, Class 4
Prototype certificate Full IEC 61400-2 prototype certificate obtained

TWT-11 is designed for easy installation. Price includes installation, permitting and test etc. See more in the KiteX Process description below!

Type Pitch controlled, passive yawing
Blade length 5.5 m
Tip height 21 m (DK) / 15 m (DE)
Cut-in / Cut-off 3.5 m/s - 18 m/s
Survival 42 m/s

TWT-11 is designed for maximizing production at typical rural installation sites. Its unusual large swept area and smart control systems enable meaningful production at most sites.

Generator 5 kW peak
Inverter Grid-tie 6 kW, 3-phase. Upgradable, island mode supported
Cable 1000 V DC, 25 m cable included, upgradeable up to 150 m

The TWT-11 comes with a 6 kW 3-phase grid-tie inverter. Once the installation design phase starts this can be upgraded to a hybrid model.

Normal operation* 83 dB LWA
Silent mode operation* 79 dB LWA
Sound Pressure at Tower* 53 dB(A)
Sound Pressure at 25 m* 47 dB(A)

LWA is the A-weighted sound power level of the turbine. dB(A) values are the A-weighted sound pressure level at the given distance.

*All numbers are estimates, we will post actual numbers once they are available from our measurement campaign.

FAQ

Questions we get a lot

When can I get a TWT-11?

2027 production is sold out. We are now taking the 2028 waitlist. We contact reservations in order as soon as your area opens, run the feasibility study for your site and agree a delivery window with you.

In Germany we start in Schleswig-Holstein and Lower Saxony.

What does a TWT-11 cost?

The list price is 165,000 DKK in Denmark and 21,100 EUR in Germany, including installation and VAT. The German price is the Danish price converted to euros, with 19 % German VAT instead of 25 % Danish VAT. Permits, the inverter, 25 m of cable and the first-year check are also included. There are no hidden extras.

New reservations on the 2028 waitlist are at the list price.

Can I get a TWT-11 in a town or holiday-home area?

Unfortunately not. Permits for turbines of this size are very rarely granted in towns, residential areas or holiday-home areas. We therefore only accept reservations for addresses in rural zones: landzone in Denmark, Außenbereich in Germany.

In Denmark you can check your zone at kort.plandata.dk.

Who takes care of the permits?

KiteX does. We handle the contact with the authorities for the installation permit, register the turbine with the relevant agency and your grid company, and pay the associated fees.

We do need information about your property along the way, so expect a few questions from us.

I already have solar panels. Can the turbine work with them?

Yes. Depending on your installation, we either connect the standard inverter alongside it or upgrade to a larger inverter that serves both your existing system and the TWT-11. We settle this in the installation design phase.

The two also complement each other: solar produces most in summer, wind most in winter.

How loud is the TWT-11?

Our current estimates:

  • Sound power level: 83 dB(A) in normal operation and 79 dB(A) in silent mode
  • Sound pressure: about 53 dB(A) at the tower and 47 dB(A) at 25 m

Sound drops quickly with distance. These are estimates until our measurement campaign is complete, and we will publish the measured values.

What if I change my mind?

Waitlist reservations are free and can be cancelled at any time. Existing pre-order deposits remain fully refundable: contact us and we refund the entire deposit to the account of your choice.

If your municipality refuses the permit, you also get the full deposit back.
